Description
The Cisco Certified Internet work Expert certification is the most respected networking qualification in the world. Recognized worldwide as a mark of outstanding professionalism and knowledge, the CCIE program is renowned for its toughness and its impartiality. By preparing for CCIE status, you can develop your professional skills and knowledge to an expert  level. Candidates are required to demonstrate expert level expertise in the fields of IGP, BGP, ISDN DDR, DLSW+, ATM, Multicasting, LAN Switching, NAT, HSRP, IPSEC, IOS specific features like WRED, GTS, FRTS, Telnet Options, Menu etc.

Currently there are 3 specializations available namely Routing & Switching, Security, and Communication Services.

These CCIE Labs are 8 -1/2 hrs long each with 30 minutes break for lunch. You need to score 80% to pass.

Very few people probably 2-5 among 100 are successful in their 1st attempt. In general, 8-10 out of 100 appear for the lab exam are the winners. This shows the level of difficulty of the exam.

Initial requirements
You must first pass a written test administered through an authorized testing center like VUE or Sylvan Prometric. The written exam contains 150 multiple choice questions. Exam duration is 3 hrs long with no break. And you must also pass a 1-day practical lab. No prior CCNA qualification needed.
